Hyplane

Avellino, 19 February 2016. The president of Trans-Tech s.r.l. engineer Gennaro Russo and the director of ItalSystem s.r.l. engineer Giovanni Perrotta signed a memorandum of understanding for the Hyplane project.
The project is the brainchild of Eng. Russo, who among other things directs the Centre for Near Space at the Italian Institute for the Future, and prof. Raffele Savino, Professor of Fluid Dynamics at the Polytechnic School and Basic Sciences of the ‘Federico II’ University of Naples, with the aim of proposing the construction of a hypersonic business jet for six to eight passengers, capable of taking off and landing at normal airports, travelling routes such as Rome-New York in less than two hours at an altitude of 30 km, or offering a true ‘tourist’ experience in space by ascending to the 100 km of the Karman line.
Italsystem will participate in the Hyplane project with the development of the basic simulator, thanks to decades of experience gained in several similar Finmeccanica S.p.A. projects.
